Gender and Global Health Faculty Seed Grants:
the sisters fund -SMALL GRANT AWARDS at IRWG - The Institute for Research on Women and Gender (IRWG) ivites applications requesting support of scholarly activities directed to global health issues, specifically focused on gendered health disparities. In its first call for project proposals, the Sisters Fund seeks to enhance "activist" scholarship or other creative activities that benefit local and global communities experiencing gender-based, health disparities. While providing funds for new and emerging work is a priority for this program, requests for support of on-going programs of research are also considered. Applications from all academic disciplines, including the arts, humanities and sciences, are welcomed and encouraged. . More details

Small Grant Program, click here for more information The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health and Society Scholars Program (RWJHSSP) offers small grant support for interdisciplinary research on the determinants of population health and health inequalities. The focus of the HSSP is broad, with support for training and research focused on interdisciplinary, multilevel apporaches to the prevention, development, progression, and treatment of diseases or conditions associated with a major burden in the population. Methodological research directed at these questions will also be considered. . University of Michigan faculty, post-doctoral fellows, and advanced doctoral students are eligible for these awards. Applicants who are not faculty will need a faculty mentor.

The Center for International and Comparative Studies (CICS) at the International Institute announces a call for proposals from groups of U-M faculty to hold exploratory seminars or research workshops on one of three themes:

These seminars or research workshops are intended to spur new collaborations that will lead to innovative research and/or curriculum development.
We encourage proposals from groups that span disciplines and departments, that have concrete plans for a collaborative research publication or a new course for the curriculum, and/or that include the participation of graduate and/or undergraduate students.
